Description

Mother-of-pearl buttons, pins and ribbed ribbon on padded wooden frame covered with black silk (front) and red velvet (back). Hidden pearl.

Themes, comments and storylines

A curious object, somewhat similar to a small laptray. The ribbed flesh-pink coloured ribbon, stretched over the black silk, reaches around the corner as if clinging on to the red velvet with its claws.

Buttons are also pinned down - on spheres rather than a plane - in the mirrored button box.

In Pins & Palimpsests the pins make there own patterns.
